Ultra 9 on a P14s? How’s the performance of that bad boy?

I was thinking about getting the P1 gen 7 with the same CPU in hopes of getting better battery life, but only offering a 4070 was such a huge downgrade so I went with the gen 6. Now I get no battery life, but at least it performs well.

It’s pretty good, I don’t really stress it that much though. It stays really rather cool as well, 77°C under load is the highest I’ve ever seen.

Battery life is phenomenal, easily a full day of work. I’ve got the 3K screen, too, with is beautiful but I imagine the battery life is even better with the regular display.

How loud do the fans get when plugged in and doing normal things? I remember when the P1g7 came out the U7 users said the machine was whisper quiet at all times, but the U9 users said the fans ramped up all the time. But I’m sure Linux doesn’t care about Lenovos CPU/fan tuning.

I only get like 2-4 hours of battery life :( but I also expected that with the i9 and 4090. Still better than my old P1g4 that got about 30 minutes of battery life.

The fans range from off to barely audible when doing normal things. I have my power plan set to balanced most of the time, though.
